Are you going on vacation and have to leave your dog behind? Are you having to go away from home unexpectedly and cannot look after you pet?
Are you concerned for your dog’s needs and wellbeing if he is left alone while you are gone? Perhaps dog boarding can provide your dog with the care, love and attention he needs, as well as the reassurance and peace of mind to you that he is well looked after and in good hands.
The reality is that dog boarding has come to have a certain stigma associated with it, as many people make the assumption that it is a place where cats and dogs are kept it cramped little cages on top of each other, terrified of each other, their new surroundings and the fact that their owner is not around.
Some people say these animals are not fed properly either and that as a consequence of all of this come out of the kennels far worse than when they went in.
It is unfortunately true to say that this is shockingly still the case in some dog kennels, but it is a real pity that all dog boarding facilities are tarnished with the same tainted brush when the vast majority provide absolutely excellent facilities for your dog, alongside professional care.
Inevitably there may be some problems with dogs missing their owners, but this cannot be helped, and indeed if the dog is kept as entertained as possible, the overwhelmingly negative effect of this is significantly reduced.
Is dog boarding safe?
In addition to the high quality dog boarding service which these companies provide, there are all sorts of other services available which you may never have considered, and indeed which give a more accurate insight into the atmosphere and ethos of the organization in question.
Many of these dog boarding companies also offer dog walking and pet waste cleanup services, as well as the more advanced services of overnight pet sitting, and moreover even a pet camera built in your home, so that if you did opt for leaving your pets alone in the house, they are still being watched.
In this case if things do get out of hand there are professionals on standby to step in and address the problem.
This last option eliminates the problem of your dogs getting homesick when they are at the kennels.
Of course they will still miss you, but this cannot be helped, and indeed it might actually be good for them to experience the difference of being handled by somebody else, or nobody at all.
All the assumptions people make about dog boarding is in fact highly inaccurate and insulting to almost every single organization which offers this service today.
The vast majority keep the safety and wellbeing of the animals in their care as their top priority, and thereby ensure that your dogs and other pets are looked after well and with as much care and tenderness as is possible.
